A test between four cartridges and the outcome. Check out the results they speak for themselves. I do love the winner and why I have a few. You can't beat it 500 and in.

Get a .243 Win - that is what these rounds are trying to duplicate.

Flat brim hat crowd don’t @ me.
243 is a great round but ammo is heavy and expensive. The 25-06 is a great round as well. Big cases with a small light bullets is a winner almost all the time. In this case we are testing intermediate rounds. You can carry a ton of ammo and get devastating results. They really aren't in the same category to tell the truth. However, I agree the 243 is a hell of a round.

I killed more deer with a .243 than any other cartridge. Then I found out about the 6.8 SPC and and have been using it ever since. It will do anything I need it to do easily to 300 yards and even further if I had to push it but I have never seen the need. I have not hunted with anything else for the last 15 years I guess.

You is da man!

I did have a mini in the Grendel. I had to part ways with it before hunting with it. It seems to have a good balance.

The 6.8 and she 6.5 Grendel leave the muzzle at the same velocity with similar bullet weights. It's only after 400 the Grendel starts to show its ballistic advantages but I wouldn't push one that far when deer hunting anyway. Not even close that distance. My Interest is for defensive purposes or sane deer shots. If I am going to be in a situation to shoot that far I would bring a suitable caliber.

Speaking of long shots, one of the four brothers I grew up with bought a Bergara 6.5 PRC. He also bought a Trijicon scope. He called Kenton industries and had them make a custom turret so all he had to do is laser it and dial in the yardage. Him and his brother was out on the farm and saw the deer of in the distance. It ranged out at 680 yards. He dialed it in on the scope and killed that joker right there. His brother said it didn't move 5 feet and dropped. Its amazing how they make those turrets so precise like that. He has even shot soda cans further than that. That Bergara and Trijicon match is a hell of a combo. Speaks loads about the Bergara Premier rifle.
