22 can info

I have a SilCo Spectre II. Works great and can handle up to 5.8x28 or 22mag. However, If I was getting another 22lr can, the DA Mast would be at the top of my list. The older can designs (Spectre II and such) have shorter blast baffle/thread area and can interfere with some of the newer 22lr threaded barrels and cause accuracy issues. Some mfg have gone to standard .5" length threads instead of the older .4" length. Suppressors are currently a lifetime purchase, so the difference in cost should not be in the equation. Also, know that ammo makes a huge difference in sound quality. CCI standard velocity is A LOT quieter (movie quiet) than bulk pack ammo running 1260fps.

I have a Mask and an Oculus on my trust. Both sound great, easy to take down and clean too.

Rarely do I use the K configuration on the Oculus for what it’s worth.

I have a Sparrow and a Mask.

Don't just go with the cheapest option just to save a few bucks. You pay the stamp either way and used cans are hard to sell. In other words, treat each can purchase as if it were a lifetime investment.

DA Mask is the gold standard rimfire can for a reason. Sounds great, built like a tank, user serviceable. If you think you're only going to ever get one rimfire can (not likely but just to assume), there is no reason not to get a Mask.

I enjoy my Sparrow as well. People talk about a first round pop - I personally have not noticed that but... I can't tell a huge difference in sound between the Mask and Sparrow honestly. Sparrow is solidly built as well and you can take SilencerCo products to the bank. Great customer service as well. Can't say I've heard the same thing about Dead Air customer service - but fortunately I have not had to find out personally.

Mask is on my short list (along with a few others). My 1st can was a Surefire, love their products, but can't help but wonder if part of the price is paying for the name? Been looking at their Ryder 22-S. Haven't seen much on em, but if it is built anything like my other can they make, it should be a beast.

As was stated previously. Ammo is important . I was lucky enough about five years ago to get a BUNCH , as in 16,000 rounds, of American Eagle black box subs . Keeping it in sealed ammo cans . I like it the best . I say this as I’ve not seen any in awhile . But the CCI subs are really good also . I shoot a lot of that also .
