I've done a little 1000yd shooting with a .50cal and with all the heat wave distortion in the scope at that range I just don't get how they can even see the target in the scope at that range. 1000yds I feel pretty confident with taking a shot but any further would be blind luck.

I made a 1000 yard shot once in Chernobyl, I had to kill a bad guy. Apparently I only hit his arm. He came back later in the game missing it.
One question....how many shots did it take to dial it in before they started recording that they were finally hitting the target though? Granted this aint easy, not saying it is. But I would've been EVEN MORE impressed if I saw him walk up pull the bipod legs and just lay down on the ground and make it in less than 2-3 cartridges with a spotter and just dialing in his glass a couple of times then hitting it. To me that's more realistic and applicable even if it were only 1500-1800yds.
