Yeah it could be, I don’t have a 6.5 but I’m just going by what he said but if I did, him saying that wouldn’t stop me from hunting with either caliber. I think the main reason for having to get a tracking dog is bad shot placement and that can happen with any caliber.

May be bad shots or bad bullet selections; either will give undesired results. I have a 6.5CM; but I'm not taking a 14# suppressed weapon hunting even with my 143 ELDX ammo. I use a suppressed 7.62x39 AR because I shoot them at typical bow hunting ranges and it is all I need.
 
I haven't had or shot one, but the ballistics look good. I already had a 257wby before the Creedmoor was invented, other wise I'd probably own one.
