A/C stinks!!! Question about F150 a/c smell

Check to see if it's covered under a TSB or recall.. Ya never know...
Unfortunately Ford trucks are bad about that. Get a replacement from a private vendor and NOT Ford. Ended up replacing a new Ford core after 16 mos. And yup only 12 month warrenty.......RW

Been there done that, have the leftover nuts and bolts to prove it. If ofcford will do it for 100 or even 200 bucks plus parts I'd jump all over it. If you're wondering how long it will take go to a shop and get an estimate, after you get up off the floor ask them how many hours they have in it for labor. If you've never done anything like this before you'll easily double their labor hours.

Found an old timer that said he gets $150/labor and knows how much work is involved. I think he is crazy but that is where it will be going to get repaired. I would rather pay him the $150 instead of having the hassle and a days worth of work/headache/busted knuckles in it.
Make sure to change the heater valve switch while you are in there. If the core has gone bad, the junction where the fluid flow is regulated is usually just as bad. And remember...copper, no plastic parts!
