I have carried a glock 42 .380 as a back up for a while. I keep mine loaded with Federal HST. An additional firearm with 7 extra rounds gives me piece of mind
The HST is a great bullet 9mm and up. The 147 or 150 grain is my subsonic bullet of choice in 9mm. In the 380 it consistently either under penetrates (around 8 inches) or clogs through cloth and doesn't expand well at all.I have carried a glock 42 .380 as a back up for a while. Yeah I am a big fan of the HST. I keep it in all my 9mm firearms. I keep the 147gr in my mp5 as they sound great. The HST is a great bullet 9mm and up. Same here. When I am lazy I sometimes leave my primary and just carry my 42. I never feel uneasy as its accurate and with good shot placement it will do the job.Same here. It's always with me and I feel uneasy without it.

Sure ammo helps. The HST penetrates enough for me to make my move and make it out of the danger zone or to my vehicle where penetration is not a problem.... and the right ammo.
Beats throwing rocks. Ill take anything that fires a projectile over 900FPS.Very encouraging...first it was the 9MM that benefited from modern components, not the .380 - this time next year we will all be carrying .22 handguns for SD!
