I am in WV at the moment, heading back home after picking up a motorcycle today. We decided it would be best to get a room at sunset. I have never seen so many dead deer on and in the road.

Greg, glad you stayed safe, sir. There aren't enough good guys to go around. Surely do not want to lose any. Happy trails and may God bless America. It's not hard to figure out the rut season is here. All the dead deer on the side of the road is just rediculous. I was coming home from Lynchburg over the weekend and I looked down at the time on the radio. When I looked up I was about 2 feet from a deer head. I swurved just in time to miss him. I swear his nose hit paint just enough to clean it for him. I tell you up here in Virginia you have to be very careful when driving in these mountain roads. They are everywhere. I see at least two or three off to the side of the road feeding. Needless to say my heart speed up a tad! I am not exaggerating that is was that close. He got lucky I looked up when I did.
I didn't swerve into the other lane or anything like that. Just a foot or so. Just enough to miss his head. I don't like hitting animals it's a waste of God's creations. If I can help it but I'll do what I need to do to miss them. I'm not going to do enough to cause an accident or wreck my truck or anything like that.Swerving is bad. Front end damage is better than the alternative.
The pictures customers posted are of totalled cars. :/Buy some deer whistles! They work.

I've known several people with them installed, who never hit a deer until after they were installed. The pictures customers posted are of totalled cars. :/
Not saying they don't help, but I'm curious about how effective they are.
