I'm 6'-3" and I have a Marlin youth model 30-30. I love hunting with that rifle in places where my furthest shot is about 50 yards. It's great for hunting in a ground blind.

Marlin has a small 22 semi auto that is reliable and a accurate. I paid 189 for it and a scope deal at Bargain Barn. I will have to look model number but it's better for a child and adult. The cricket and those can be to compact for a adult to operate. I think it was the model 22XT Youth model. Great little guns,

Also Savage make a compact 22 that is clip fed and it cost me 114 bucks at Walmart. Great little gun for snakes and such..

Have been using a CZ 455 Scout/Youth size that I haven't given my son yet. Found a slip on recoil pad that fit it to increase the LOP. It's perfect, so accurate too.

I have a Crickett and I love it. I added stock extenders that screw in under the butt plate, a 3-9 scope and a bipod. It’s my backyard squirrel sniper.

Time to sink $2000+ into a 10/22 like the rest of the adults here.

I have an older Marlin 15Y youth model single shot .22 with 3x9x40 hung on it.
All of my children learned to shoot with it.
I still will grab it first for yard pest enforcement.
It shoots very well with CB's to Stingers.
I am medium sized 6' 200lb
