Any flooring guys on here? Whos got the best Laminate?

Make sure the backing is NOT particle board or other wood mesh. It will expand if water gets to it and buckle the floor big time.

That's why I went with the vinyl plank. It's cork backed and waterproof. You can score and pop it with a knife which makes install very easy.

I dont think we've looked at any vinyl plank yet. Where did you get yours? Did you install on subfloor or slab?

We got it from Floor and Decor. I think about 2.50 a foot. They had some less expensive ones that were the same thickness and type but there wasn't any variations in the color like the one we got. We figured that the variations will hide scratches if/when we start to get them. Ours has a wood texture to it as well. We put it on a slab. It installs just like laminate, it snaps together. I did 550 feet in a few evenings after work. It would of gone faster if I would of had somewhere to put all of the furniture. I had to move everything to one side of the room and tear up the carpet then lay a section and as I worked my way across I would move furniture to where it was laid and tear up and install... That slowed me down quite a bit. They have some that is around 1.50 per foot but it's half the thickness. I think it was 7mm thick. We are planning on staying in the house for a while and didn't think that was worth the saving that money. It has really good wear reviews. It is slick as hell though. I was playing Wii sports with my son and busted my ass while wearing socks.

I have a 65 pound bulldog, I bought my floors for the whole house from sams club and love them.
Been down for a couple years and she hasn't put a scratch on them. Put em in myself

Vinyl plank is the way to go... just put it down throughout the house except for the bedrooms and man I am glad we did.
The guy came out with samples and he took a piece of it and touched and to end... water proof very durable and very easy to clean. The installation took about 10 hours and they moved all furniture and put down quarter round.

We put the lifeproof brand Vinyl flooring from Home Depot in our family room a couple months ago. 100% waterproof with a PVC core. That stuff it tough, 2 large boxers and a two year old hasn't made a mark in it yet. I wish I had it throughout our whole house instead of hardwood.

Only issue is that their were only ~5 pattern variations, which made it a little tough to keep similar pieces spread apart.

Just got back from looking at SmartCore Ultra at Lowes. But the reviews online are not so good, at least the ones I saw. I like the idea of using Vinyl through the whole house so I'm not dealing with uneven floors from room to room. The extra cost of the vinyl is worth not dealing with tile in the bathrooms/mudroom.

We thought we had decided 3 times on different brands but every time we find out something we dont like about it. Im putting down 1776 sq ft of it on an open floor plan. We have a dog and dont want something that scratches. Need to stick with 12mm. We've looked at HD, Lowes and Floor and Decor. Right now we're looking at Allen Roth from Lowes. It gets good reviews on resisting scratches. What have yall used/installed? I know tile and real hardwood floors. But the laminate Im learning as I go. TIA...
I installed commercial grade laminate from Build Direct. It was rated AC4. It's tough and durable. The installer that put it down complained that it ate 4 of his diamond blades. It still looks brand new.

Build Direct will drop ship right to your door (at 2500 pounds it's a good thing too). I think we spent about 3 grand on 1200 sqft. It has a 36 year residential warranty.

Our installer sent this, note they are still dusty at this point but they still look brand new. We installed these in 2014.
