Any suggestions for a decent place for a redneck 22 year old feller to stay around Stonecrest mall for 3 nights a week for 6 weeks?

I know you're trying to be a great dad, but my suggestion is to let him drive it daily - it will feel tough but once it's done, he'll be proud and have gained real world experience of what a man sometimes has to do.......
4 to 5 hours in a day driving 5 days a is a little much, not to mention fuel and wear and tear on a vehicle.

And probably more dangerous than the hood.
East is a better option but, the best advice I could give would be for him to hunker down wherever he stays. I would not be out and about in this area after dark.

My son has been accepted into a trade school near Stonecrest mall. It's a 2 hour drive one way from the house down I75 through Atl and out I20 east on a good day. I'm thinking of just finding a place he can stay for the 6 weeks he has to attend training but I'm not a big fan of the area. Looking for any suggestions for a decent hotel/motel/Holiday Inn somewhere on I 20. Further east is an option also.
It’s a horrible area, Lots of desperate predators or bored and unemployed youth looking for bad opportunity. He will be fine as long as he goes to school, goes back to his room and keeps his head on a swivel.
Lots of available lodging around and don’t let him make that drive everyday.

He travels around the metro area now for his current job. I'm not concerned about the real world part as much as the reliability of his truck and a 4 - 5 hour commute every day. If is late or misses a day he could be washed out of the program on the spot.
