Hornady Critical Duty ammo is what Gwinnett cops load up with, and its designed to shoot thru windshields.

that's my work ammo also. I still like my rangers better, in the chance of having to fire through glass the critical duty does perform better but most practical scenarios rangers and hst seem to have better ballistic qualities.

Yep. Winchester bonded 147 Ranger+, FBI load. In handguns and SUB2000K
Make sure to use bonded ammo, if barrier penetration is important.

I've been on bonded ammo for years, always tell people to use it or have it at least in a back up mag

Windshields are not overly difficult to penetrate with a decent handgun round.

We were practicing vehicle assault on a Cadillac Cimarron. From the front bumper I shot through the windshield, through the front seat, through the backseat, through the trunk, and out the trunk lid, into the berm. Ammo was Master Cartridge .40S&W 180grn FMJ reload.

Doors are easy to penetrate, ya just gotta stay away from internal supports/braces and window motors. Also, I believe some newer vehicle have side impact airbags in the doors.

Slugs work for car doors and windshields if you can hit them without a stock.
