If I could just teach such wisdom to the goobers that take them out of my work truck when they don’t have one in theirs. One of life's great lessons, which only took me a couple of decades to learn: Carefully wrap the straps after use, in order for them to work correctly on the next use.
I learned how to tie a rope with an easy slip-knot that created a pulley to winch and secure pool tables, pinballs and video games in the back of a pickup truck. 1 rope could secure them all
I saw a 30 year old grown man and his "baby mama" stuck on the side of i75 because he didn't know how to change a flat tire... I stopped & helped. He was literally watching a YouTube video on how to use a F'ING JACK!!!!! so, I changed the tire for them and told her she needed to "upgrade" her taste 😂 😂 😂 she legitimately said to me, "I've been thinking that for a while now" 😂 😂 😂 I almost died laughing in HIS face.. I saw his soul die a little inside.. kinda hurt my feelings but the truth hurts sometimesUsing a ratchet strap is like changing oil or using yard equipment. It’s a basic requirement for man knowledge. Otherwise, you’re the guy everyone who walks/drives by is shaking his head at. Watch a YouTube video and use them enough that they’re no big deal anymore.
With everything available on YouTube, if someone can’t figure out something simple like that, it’s just a choice a lot of the time. With ratchet straps, I see all the crap in and around the roads of Augusta because they weren’t secured, and I wish more people would take the time to get comfortable with them. It’s a necessary skill if a person has a truck or trailer.I saw a 30 year old grown man and his "baby mama" stuck on the side of i75 because he didn't know how to change a flat tire...
