Not aesthetically pleasing. We typically put nets over the pond during leaf season but other than that the wife didn't like it covered.

Same with my BIL. Ruined the look, afraid he would no longer be on ‘’the tour’’. Just threw in the towel.

I've toyed with the idea of putting one in, but never considered them getting eaten. Guess I'll build a gazebo instead.

Does anyone keep koi? What sort of pond setup do you use? Any advice on planting or filter systems?

I'm in the process of converting our backyard pool into one and was curious if any ODT'rs kept koi or are into aquariums

I had one and it was a complete pain in the ass. It was something the size of a small inground pool 20' x 20'. Best thing I ever did was fill it in with dirt.

I'd love to have one, have a decent spot for one, but I'd probably get obsessed with it and spend to much money. I do like my aquariums though.

My neighbors down the road do.

I only saw one of their Koi.......when my dog brought part of it home.


That was a fun conversation and nice little chunk of change to replace. Luckily for me, the neighbor is pretty chill.
