Waco had about 80 branch members isolated in a compound with no retreat. The 90% of noncompliant firearms owners in CT are spread out and a much more difficult target to own logistically, then there is the public perception to deal with and an unconstitutional controversial "law". Their best/safest recourse is inaction and just pop the few they uncover accidently. However, elitist politicians are not well known for their wisdom in maintaining control of the population and they underestimate the impact of their decisions as well as the resiliency of those they rule over.

I agree the safest option for the LEO safety is inaction. Pop a few here and there while serving other warrants....but like you said I don't think the politicians want a onsy or twosy. I think the dumbest thing CT could do is go door to door......because it may not be the first house or the third but at some point in time people are going to lay a trap for the LEO's.....Body Armour is great but all that molle gear doesn't do much good when someone sets you on fire.....

Now lets consider second and third tier effects of such actions. Tier #2 officer families and children....just because you operate with a form of OPSEC doesn't mean your children do. Perhaps they love to brag to others that Daddy is on the swat team busting down doors and protecting the world from bad people.....What happens when those bad people's kids are friends with yours? This is basic human intelligence gathering and something that will make your families a target. Tier #3 Attacks have been made against LEO families and supporters causing the call for reinforcements to go unanswered.....to protect the families they are gathered up and moved into a secure location. (SEcure from whom? And what rights do you have in said compound? Are you an indentured servant working for your room and board to your master?)

Either way CT will be an interesting example of "Well....you see what had happened was....."
