AR-15 help

I’d say Iron sights... your pistol is going to serve you better/quicker in my opinion because inside a home we’re talking 8-14’ max distance. If outside and beyond 12’ you better have a lawyer on retainer and keep yo mouth shut!

Spend $ on training/SD classes

If a pistol is all you have use it, but rifles/shotguns are inherently more accurate (twice as many points of contact) and hit many times harder than pistols. Also, soft body armor is cheap and available...I don't want to worry about if the bad guy is wearing body armor (hard armor is a different story, and not easily concealed like soft armor).

It is easily demonstrated that bad guys outside of 12 feet can present a deadly threat...I don't know about you but I've hit man size silouettes at 600 yards with a rifle (this isn't impressive by any means). If a bad guy is shooting at you (or even threatening to do so), it's a deadly threat as long as you are in their line of sight.

Ditto on the training, but pickup a red dot...it will help you put shots on target faster.

My brother has a vortex sparc AR, and for the price it is excellent! True bang-for-the-buck. I shoot with an Eotech 512, and I can definitely recommend EOTech. And of course, irons are always a great option.

Any red dot or reflex sight will work great for what you would want it for.

On another note, a tactical 12 gauge works best for home defense. Pump action for the scare factor. 00 buckshot will do a whole lot more than any AR.

There is nothing wrong with the Vortex, Primary arms, Bushnell and the others but the Sightmark has four different reticles and five brightness settings. At one time the Vortex, Primary Arms and another name were the same product. I don't know it that is still the case or not.

It looks like the Holosun and the Sig Romeo 5 are the same. What ever name you are looking at Primary Arms sells the same sight with their name on it. Usually the Primary Arms are about 10 bucks cheaper.
