AR pistol help

Don't have another bcg to test it with. If only one round is in the mag it will fire and the bolt will hold open. I've also tried to hit the forward assist. Didn't do anything.

Maybe there ain't nuff gas to reset the trigger. I had a similar problem on a new pistol until I opened up the adjustable gas block.

Ya , I've heard of people having to (very carefully) open up the gas port on the barrel too.

Pistol gas systems are already WAY over gassed. Opening them up is probably the worst thing you can do. Typically, gas block mis-alignment is what causes short stroking in a home build. Then again, some cheap parts suppliers have iffy QC and I have seen where barrel gas ports were not drilled all the way through or had obstructions in them.

Also, is this what you are experiencing in detail?

  • Chamber a round (from dropping the bolt or hand cycling in)
  • Pull trigger
  • Round goes bang
  • Rifle cycles ejects case and another round goes into the chamber from the mag
  • You pull trigger again
  • *Click* and then nothing?
