Are Drs. Fishing for Dollars?

I can understand being cautious around doctors. A lot of them seem to schedule as much crap as insurance will pay for with no real interest in correcting a problem. Sometimes it seems patents are just an obstacle between medical professionals and their insurance payments. That said, do your homework and don’t say “no” just because a lot of them are sociopaths. They might be pointing you in the right direction.
I went through the gauntlet when my wife got sick and at one point we where having as many 4 appointments a week and that happened on more than one occasion.
During that time seeing multiple medical people and doing the tour of Atlanta area hospitals I encountered a very few good doctors and more that I wouldn't let treat my pet rock.
I have a jaded opinion based on experience.
If you can find a good doctor they're a blessing but that's a rare bird these days and most of today's doctors apparently got their degrees from the back of a matchbook cover or graduated from some witchdoctor school in west Africa.
Now excuse me I have to go take care of the women they gave less than 6 months to live almost 6 years ago now.

Bless you Sir....

Here's how bad Doctor's can be fishing for something, my wife and I after a camping trip both felt like we had a bladder infection that wouldn't go away so I went to my doctor and she went to her's so now to the tests my doctor ran tests to find I was dehydrated total for the tests $149 my wife's dr ran tests and it was $1950 same medical network just a different doctor, we started using urgent care ever since.
About 3 years ago I had a 4.5" cutoff wheel come apart and cut my hand pretty bad 4 stitches on the inside and 8 on the outside it happened on a Sunday I went to urgent care and they fixed it up $750 and made the statement if I had gone to the hospital it would have easily been 10 times if not more than the cost, again the same network.

I'd been dead at 39 or 40. I've lived a whole other life since then. My health did change a little with the Covid vaccine. I think we've taken 3 out of 5 or 6 I guess. Kind of went middle of the road. I understand you're position. I can say, I don't like taking an aspirin. But I'm far from that now. My blood pressure would've been off the charts without meds. They call it the silent killer. Since I retired, my health has gotten much better. They've even taken me off half of what I was taking
Exercise just walking and watch your diet what I do.Not heavy on booze either maybe couple drinks a month.

Yea, they're trying to put me on a weight loss shot too. They came up with a new test that my A1C is borderline. My blood work is stellar.......Can't win for loosing
I have been reading up on these weight loss drugs. They all seem to have some side effects some them serious. I know a nurse practitioner said she wouldn’t take the stuff.

Yea, I haven't either. However it may be that or be a diabetic at some point. It's just my A1C. Everything else looks good

I do everything pretty well right. I'm just a big guy. I was a skinny runt little kid. I could do a little more working out. I eat just enough to keep from feeling like I'm starving. Hard to balance it all taking care of several people and make a living all at the same time
