Black FN SCaR 17s under $2800

If I'm looking at replacing parts on a $3k rifle before I even buy it, I'd reevaluate just how awesome this rifle is.

There's nothing wrong with the factory stock, it's a matter of preference.

Like my PWS MK114 MOD2, they are 2k+, I hate the BCM stock and BCM trigger, so I'll change them. Does that mean the gun is overpriced? No, that means I have a gun that I can make my own, to fit ME and my preference.

I for one own a SCAR17 and think it is a fine battle rifle. Extremely accurate, light and easy to handle.

I sunk a little over a grand into a Aero Precision AR10. I got lucky and got most parts at dealer cost. It seems like good quality. I also have a Sig and Windham AR15 that both seen to be made nicely. I can see how a few tweeks could improve them but find it hard to believe I could make them 500 times better by spending $20,000 more. A quality barrel, action and trigger shouldn't run the same price as a Honda Civic. But I partially agree. Ill.pay an extra $500 for a Sony instead of buying a Vizio.

Dunno I've never purchased a gun over $1500 but seems like some people make some really really nice ones. Maybe they're engraved with gold. Most I would think reasonable would be 2 grand unless we're talking Calibers over 308. Glass not included.

That is only true based off what you consider "high quality", below are what I would call high quality.


KAC SR25 will run you $3,200-$22,500 depending which one you get

Basic DD AR10 will run you $2,800

JP Enterprises LRP will run $3,600+

The DPMS, Armalite, Aero M5, PA10's, M&P10, etc... are not "high quality" in my book. Some are great budget AR10's, but certainly not "high quality".

When I think 308 semi auto rifle I automatically assume prices starting at 2500+ but that's just me. Same as when I think AR15 I think 1300-2500. The sub 1000 dollar AR15s just don't hit my radar, and I am not ballin like some people. Same goes for pistols, in my mind they start at 550 and go north from there.

So if I were to pick up a Smith Wesson Sport for $600 what difference would there be in a $2600 AR?

The $22K KAC M110 is not worth $22K in my book either, but this setup has a very high collector value due to its incredibly low civilian production numbers. In this instance, alot of this price comes from simply being what it is. It is a bad ass rifle for sure, but not $22K bad ass.
