Good Afternoon ODT,
I wanted to post about a rifle we recently put together for one of our clients. He has been on the predator hunting scene for some time now, but never had a tried and true rifle that met all of his needs. This was in part due to the options available to left-handed shooters. We were looking to provide the most bang for his hard-earned dollar which meant we took on the task of taking a factory rifle to the next level.
This build started with a Ruger American Predator in .243 win. After polishing the bolt & changing the throw lever/handle to an Anarchy Arms Dragon Scale lever the bolt smoothed out and the "zipper" sound was nonexistent. Then we dropped in an MCARBO trigger spring kit to bring the trigger to a crisp 2# pull.
For the chassis, we partnered with Indian Creek Designs (ICD) for their MoFo Chassis with the Big John length forend. The MoFo chassis includes a full-length ARCA-Swiss rail, creating a solid mount for his tripod. Since the ICD Chassis accepts standard AR-15 grips and buffer tubes, we utilized a 1911-styled grip with skeletonized grip panels and a Luth-AR MB3 (Fully adjustable) carbine buttstock. I highly recommend ICD for all your chassis needs!
Since this rifle is a predator gun, our client used an IRay BOLT TH50C V2 Thermal Weapon Sight 640x512 50mm scope, and based on the performance it was a stellar decision!

There are plans in the works to change the barrel to a carbon fiber pre-fit in the near future, but at just a hair over 10 lbs, this dog will hunt!
