We had between 40 and 50,000 used books with new best sellers and signed books by their authors. We had our entire inventory on Amazon with prices and free shipping. Our location was in a popular shopping center with an excellent Mexican restaurant, a Krogers, a hair salon, a florist, a fitness studio, a Chic fil a and the best wine shop around Johns Creek. We observed book stores from Seattle to Atlanta as customers and pilfered all the ideas we liked. Probably should have given up the whole concept when I bought 3/4 of all the bookshelves from a "Books A Million" store. I just figured their overhead forced them to down size and it was one less bookstore for us to contend with. Duh
