Beans will start to "work" kinda like the fermentation process when they start to go bad.

My rule is, if it don't smell rotten I eat it. I have been known to scrape the fuzzy stuff off of left over and eat it like I just cooked it.

Yeah I nuked them in the microwave a little longer than usual to burn off any extra proteins. Hoping that did the trick.
