can a pistol that has been SBR'd be taken back to a pistol?

I don’t think I would chance it, especially with it being Marked. It can be removed from the registry, but it would just give the ATF leverage against you.

Apparently switching a SBR back to a pistol is a work around to avoid notifying ATF when traveling out of state with an SBR/NFA item.

Please verify this before taking my word

A lot of this is true, the only issue you run into is if you happen to get pulled over, and they notice that marked receiver. you have to remember these people are tyrants and they are corrupt. They are not there to cut you a break or even follow the written law.

can a HK SP5K pistol that was registered as an SBR & remarked to MP5K-N, be de-registered back to a pistol?

yes it can

yes. You can either temporarily turn it back into a Title 1 firearm (take off the stock, put on brace) or permanently (have it removed from registry.

Just make it non-NFA for travel and you're good. Pop a longer barrel or remove stock. You can even sell it in non-NFA configuration privately.

yes it can

This is correct. As long as the person/trust that filed the form 1 requests it be removed, you are fine.
