When I was 16 I came come too late for dinner. It was 9:30. I looked for something to eat and went thru the kitchen. I looked thru the cabinets and found a can of chili. Little did I know it was very old. I got sick and threw up untill I had nothing come up. But couldn't stop trying. At 2am my parents took me to the ER. I had 2 bags of IV solution. I couldn't look at chili for years. I now enjoy making it but can chili is still a no.

I would say call it a purge day but I guess that would be the same thing as eating 'canned chili'.

Another note. About 3:00 a.m. I realized this $2.49 can of chili is a cheap substitute for a $150 colonic. Saving all the time!

I guess some lessons just have to be learned over and over again.... :tsk:

Hormel's will do when it is absolutely necessary. I made the chili when I married, but over the years, the wife has taken over and does pretty good. I had to leave out the mushrooms for her, so, that sorta started her role. Anyway, she makes good chili now, her seasoning is spot on and never a stutter when it's chili time. And Frito's go good with chili. And as always, momma made the best. My recipe was a close copy of hers.
