Hey all,

I've got an older vehicle that has an A/C leak for years. My mechanic has evacuated/refilled it every summer. That helps, but the system will still go warm after a while. Even when the system is full, there is no rhyme or reason why it starts blowing warm. But then a day or two later, it will blow cold all day. Very weird.

Most local mechanics don't have the time to really spend some time on it. I found a place in Smyrna called AutoCool that all they do is A/C. I live half way between Atlanta and Chattanooga, so that is a bit of a drive.

Any of you all know of an A/C place north of 285, preferably on the I-75 side of things? Someone who can track leaks, replace Shraeder valves or o rings, and replace any part that needs fixing? They could have it for weeks, I just want to get it done right.

I don't have a specific recomendation, but go with somewhere that will warranty their work. I had a Honda that kept going through compressors because they basically implode and release shards into the system that then implode the next compressor, over and over again, unless the system is thoroughly evacuated/refilled repeatedly to get all of the shards. I finally took it to a AAA shop, that gave the repair a 2 year/24,000 mile warranty, and after several trips in and out to replace parts, evacuate and refill several times, the repair finally stuck. Good luck.
