Ok, I got into an accident where the other party was at fault. My front end has damage which I will picture below.

The insurance adjuster sent me to their preferred shop for an estimate. They looked at it for 2 minutes, and didn’t even pop the hood.

The truck is making a rattling sound from the pulley side of the engine, and something is definitely up with the transmission, it is hesitating and shifting poorly.

The insurance adjuster wants me to drop it off at the shop and get a rental car.

I am concerned that there is more damage than the car is worth, and don’t want to be screwed over, but they are making it seem like dropping it off for them to start working on it is the only next step I can take.

Any advice on where to go from here?

Refuse and take to the dealer.
That's the only way to insure you get all correct parts and done right.
Get an attorney as well since your insurance company does not have care about anything but money.

I doubt they will think that the transmission is bad now, after a collision. Pics might give your fellow Odt crew, more to joke about, and also see the terrible damage
Damn now my neck hurts just thinking about it, I may have to file a claim also

I have heard mixed opinions on calling my insurance company. Some say yes and some say no, keep them out of it.

The problem with the dealer, is that they also use the same shop for body work.

Guy pulled out in front of me. I was doing about 40-45 mph.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. (Got rear ended) After a few calls to other insurance company I dispensed with the BS and had my insurance company take care of it and get reimbursed from them. Cost me my deductible $500 that I’m still trying to get back but my insurance took care of everything and had my truck back in two week. For me it worked out better but everyone’s situation is different.

It looks like you could have hidden damage, that could cause trans issues as well a other hidden damage!!!! Also look at diminished value !! Check if it didn’t damage the motor and trans mounts
