Chainsaw problem

https://www.hunker.com/12421767/troubleshooting-a-hard-to-start-ms-290-stihl-chainsaw

I've mentioned this before but I'll say it again. I run all my small engines out of gas every time I finish using them and have never had an issue when I go to use them again regardless of time span.
It's really the simplest preventive maintenance thing you can do.... especially for a 2 stroke.
My youngest is 12 years old (Stihl straight shaft weed eater) and my oldest must be 15 or 16 years old now (Craftsman hedge trimmer).

This is EXCELLENT advice

I have a Stihl blower that was hard to start since I brought it home. Couple years ago I tried the premixed can fuel by VP fuels. No more problems. Since then I changed all my stuff over to VP.

Everyone forgets that it needs a little blow back for lubrication for the bottom end.

Every 2 stroke I've ever had, (bikes etc), pass the charge through the crankcase, which lubricates the lower end, (which is why you use premix or oil injection).

Take the screen out of the exhaust, then remove the exhaust, check and see if you have carbon build up around the port and clean accordingly. Stihl oil is good, but not the best and will cause build up.
