Cheapo Scope Recommendation?

Yeah I hear ya..normally you would put optics that is more than the gun on. If you can't see it you can't shoot it. But like I said have a cheap bushnell on a 17 hmr.

My better guns get better optics. 15-22 gets a Bushnell but the AR gets an Aimpoint.

Ya cant hit what ya cant see... I would still put a $300 scope on a $150 rifle. Also the mounting system. Without a good foundation you'll be scatching your head when miss the target... Just sayin...

Yeah, but there's something to be said about SOME of the lower end optics. Simmons makes a disproportionately decent product for the money.

I know you said 100 and under...but Vortex make great scopes. Plus they have zero stop and red illumination reticles etc. how far you shooting?

I had to put some glass on two TC .308's for a hunt recently. I put at Simmons 3x9 on the Thompson Center Venture and a Redfield Revenge on the Thompson Center Dimension. I think I spent about $80 on the Simmons and $199 on the Redfield. Both worked fine, but there as a considerably difference in the low light performance and clarity with the Redfield. The 25-06 is a real tack driver, and I'll bet you could find one of those new Redfields for $150 and wouldn't be sorry.

When I sent the rifles back, I out the Simmons on my Gamo, and the Redfield is waiting for a new TC Venture in 25-06.
