Child critical after accidental shooting in DeKalb County!

Yep, irresponsible felon gun "owner".....

"DeShawn Beedles had been critically injured in the shooting.

The boy’s brother, 24-year-old Tydrerris Cash, was charged with reckless conduct, tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and cruelty to children."

"If you're going to have weapons in the home, you need to practice gun ownership,” DeKalb Police Capt. Steve Fore said. “Those weapons should be secured, as well as the ammunition, out of the reach of children."

This goes double if you're a convicted felon in unlawful possession of a firearm.......

It's so sad this kid was shot in the head and may not live due to this POS! Just look at his photo and you can tell he would never do anything like play with a gun! Hope he sits in prison for a very long time!

If only the kid's felon brother could of complied with the DeKalb Police Chief's recommendations to keep his unlawfully possessed firearm and ammunition secured and locked up.

I'm somewhat shocked DeKalb Police Chief Steve Fore didn't recommend Universal Background Checks, reduced capacity magazines, a ban on "Assault Rifles" and ammo of "non-sporting" use.

Twice in the article the reporter states the gun "went off".
Please, people, learn the facts. It may have been an accident but the perp fired the pistol, it did not "go off".

Once again the press makes the inanimate object the thing to fear, not the idiot that was mishandling it.

I once had an acquaintance (ex co-worker) that lived in Dekalb County who happened to be a convicted felon. He informed me that he inquired with local LEO that stated convicted felons can lawfully own firearms for self defense as long as it remains in the home. Any truth to that?
