Collectible S&W Revolvers produced from 1957 to Present

I like 27-1's. They were all made in 1961 and most of them didn't ship until 1962 and some stayed around until 1963. The -1 variant had an ejector rod with LEFT hand threads. This variation didn't last long as shooters realized the cylinder was coming loose from shooting....the left hand threads were the culprit.

So the 27-1's didn't last long....or any other N frame -1 variant. A few K frames had this issue too...

Too me a little while bit I put together a set of every barrel length in blued...and one in nickel. Up until recently this nickel 27-1 was the only one known in the collector world.

But there has been another one to surface....its an 8 3/8" barrel and it's on GB for just shy of $5k if anyone wants it. I tried to make a deal on it but the seller is firm.

Here is my collection of 27-1's. 3.5" 5" 6" 6.5" and 8 3/8". And 3.5" Nickel

Thanks for letting me share.

Amazing collection.

Everyone is pretty much focused on the big bores, but I've been looking for a Model 30 (no dash) for a while, and haven't run across one. Last of the I frames.

I also thing the 25-5 will be collectible as there don't seem to be many around. I had one with a 6"barrel and factory nickel and sold it when times were a little hard.

Funny, I've got either a pre-Model 30 or a 30 No Dash and never thought about it being "Collectable"...Same with my Four-inch 25-5--Prolly' ex-DeKalb County PD, I think... :)
