Colt Detective Special .38 Special: Excellent revolver for self defense use

They were issued widely & highly regarded in the L.E. community so I feel confident they will hold up fine.

Somewhere between 300-350 based on the empty .38 Spec. ammo boxes.

They have been very popular w/ the Ladies. Often we will start out w/ the Ruger LCR .22, get the shooter comfortable/ proficient with it, then graduate to the Colt, get them used to it, then shoot the students revolver until they can't take the recoil anymore then go back to one of the first two.
Ultimately it has proven to be a pretty good system of which the Colt (or Ruger SP 101 w/ lightened trigger) has been a valuable "Intermediate" transition revolver in between the .22 & lightweight but hard kicking .38's.

another one i love and have carried and is my favorite is the S&W 19 with 2 1/2 inch. Shoot well even out to 25 yards
