Current residence vs moving

As a buyer, I would be interested in a package deal. I've had my eye on a farm with the equipment already in place. I do have equipment, but this is a large place

Have you any knowledge of how the property insurance laws are changing in FL,and their related costs? For example, your homeowners policy could require additional policies attached to it.

Such as individual policy coverages for:
Fire
Wind/storm
Flood
Etc

Each policy category would have its own cost, and if you don’t have it,you dont have that coverage

Instead of 1 umbrella policy you now could potentially need 5 separate policies making your insurance 5x more expensive

Wind/storm and flood are a killer$$$$$, If you don't have a mortgage you won't need that ins, but when something happens and it will, your screwed.

Current situation: wife and I both retired now. Looking at possibly moving in the next year or two to Florida. We live on 15 acres in the country and I have lots of things I will not be taking with me. A good example: my tractor and all the attachments that I have acquired since purchasing. I can either sell outright or make available to the buyer at a cost at closing. Would most buyers want to go that route to maintain the property as I have been doing or not bother with it? Either way it’s something I’ll have to sell before or after the home sale. If you were a buyer, what would you do?
The question is………after having 15 acres and a tractor and toys to play with…….are YOU going to be happy in Florida 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Renters insurance is cheap. That’s the plan.

I can hardly wait.

I lived in Orlando 11 years. I was GLAD to get back to GA and that was in the 90's. I would suggest you rent a place for a month during the summer (when it is brutally hot/humid) before leaving your 15 acres here. You might just find out that you really like it here better. Make sure to inquire about homeowners' insurance on what you are looking at. The price might be almost another house payment. 9-10 months of high humidity and heat get old (and big power bills), along with the bugs. Depending on where you are looking, traffic can be a nightmare, think ATL during rush hour for a lot of the day.

Also, home prices will be stupid in most of the state.
O-Town is not Florida.
