I usually buy a ham a couple of times a year, trim it up and save the fat and ham bone for making beans.Throw ya some ham in it........![]()
One of my favorite things to eat. I love a good Reuben, I like mine with the dark pumpernickel.Reuben sandwich. I bought some sliced pastrami from Costco. The Rye bread is from Aldi. It was delicious but the bread was a bit crumbly. I’ll definitely be getting more of the pastrami. It was very tasty.

I rarely eat fast food but I tried it too and it was really good. Damn commercial.
Best beans/soup in the world. I have folks that save their hambones for me at Easter and Thanksgiving. Can’t believe someone would throw one away.I usually buy a ham a couple of times a year, trim it up and save the fat and ham bone for making beans.
Now I want beans.
i used to throw all my bones away.... until the Insta-pot. Now I save every meaty bone no matter what from. InstaPot, one onion, usually a 1/2 pint of homemade stout and a little salt. Let cook few hours then strain into mason jars. I pour up short so they have room to freeze with a loose cap. Next day i tighten the cap and store in chest freeze. Makes excellent soups, stews.Best beans/soup in the world. I ah e folks that save their hambones for me at Easter and Thanksgiving. Can’t believe someone would throw one away.
