I grew up in PA. Didn't get real cold very often.
Real cold is when inhaling stings your lungs and exhaling forms ice in your mustache and beard.

No such thing. I can always pile on enough clothes to keep comfortable. I can never get naked enough to cool off

The cold versus hot argument. You can not pile on enough clothes to be warm when it's freezing. Maybe you're talking about being out for an hour or two. I'll take being hot every time when it comes to extremes and living in it.
