I like fast and flat and generally hunt in relatively open areas. Given that, .243, .25-06, .260. Last 3 or so years has been a .260. May use something different this year... just because. (If I'm in the woods, a handgun.)

Sounds like my weapon choices, almost to a tee. If I am in open land, .25-06. If I am in the woods, my trusty .30-06. If I am in the thicket on my dad's property, .357Mag with an 8-3/8" barrel.

Gonna test out my lil' 7mm08 this year.
I break out the 12 gauge slug gun loaded with 300 grain Hornady SST's when I hunt thick stuff.

I love me some Marlin 30-30. So much that I now have 3 of them. LOL!

Browning BAR .270 for the past 25 years or so. I have others but I prefer Ol' Trusty.

I finally, FINALLY got me a Browning. I just picked up a BAR II Safari in 270. Looking forward to taking it out to sight it in and see how she shoots.
