Diseased Tree

I'm no arborist, so hopefully one of you can help me. I have a tree in my front yard...I believe it is a maple. It's probably about 10 years old and has always been healthy. This week, though, the leaves have spotted and are falling off en masse. I believe the tree will be completely dead in a few weeks at this rate.

First off, do any of you know what this disease might be? A fungus maybe?

Second, is there any way I can save the tree?
