I have a funny video that I need to dig up, we were doing a long distance sailing race, and we beached during an intense lighting story off FL, the gopro video shows a lighting bolt hitting the mast, and my crew jumping and running off. His hand was on the boat. Still funny to think about him running away screaming.

It was det cord

I don't believe it was det cord. I think it was a lead tube for a non electric blasting system. Det Cord would have had stuff flying all about not just the flash. But what do I know... I did drilling and blasting work for several years.

Not certain what they were doing.. blasting a tree out or blasting to deepen the channel. I'd guess deepening the channel. Had it gone across the cove instead of down it I would say it was for a pipeline.
