Here is the gun you need FS McMillan TAC-50 .50 BMG just saw this in the classified ads. Put a silencer on this bad boy and shoot them in the neighbor's pasture a half mile away,lol. It should vaporize the little varmints . In south Georgia they call armadillos possums on the half shell or south Georgia speed bumps .

Favorite is HP 7.62x39 splits them like a watermelon. Even used a bow once or twice.

I’ve used an air rifle up to .30-06. The thunk and ensuing blood spurting flailing around gives me the willies. They are so gross.

The hair coming out of the shell is a bit nauseating. Not to mention they carry leprosy.

Guys at work talk about eating them. I usually walk away when that conversation starts. I get the same feeling when I’m in a confined space when I see an armadillo. I don’t know why they freak me out so much. I shoot them and then just leave. I don’t even look to see the damage.

I've killed a good many of them with 38 Semi Wadcutters fired from a 3 inch Model 65.
