It will be overturned and the fact there is ZERO ramifications to a judge (especially those with LIFETIME appointemnts) for it's ruling being overturned is part of the problem.

I'm taking this as good news. Ruling the that AR-15 is a 'dangerous and unusual' rifle means that an appeal is a no brainer.

If things go well, it could end up eliminating the possibility of banning guns by name, as in the CA and MA 'assault weapons' bans. At worst it just means that MD's ban will stand.
