Firearm of choice opening day 10/22/16

My Ruger M77 MKII Hawkeye in .270. I have a Timney Trigger in it set at 3.1 lbs. This gun has been nothing but a tack driver since I put that trigger in it. I picked it up with the scope for $400 off a guy needing money. Heck the scope was a $200 scope so I guess I came out pretty good!

Sooo, got to ask why the need for night vision?

Where I hunt, it is sometimes too dark to see your target clearly, even though it is within the legal, 30 minutes after sunset, time. I actually set my alarm, so I don't take a chance of doing the wrong thing. The ATN-x is also a day time scope and takes good video. I am hoping to improve my skills with it and video a kill.

It's so dark you also need a flashlight on the rifle? Or is that an IR emitter?

IR. When the moon isn't up, the night vision is very limited. Doesn't work too well in heavy woods though.
