If he's truthful, 19.5% is relatively low by retail standards.
They are pretty cool but not $550 cool, and IMO nothing Keltec makes is worth $550.

Unless a gun dealer is buying something outside his normal distribution chain, he can't tell you what his "cost" is on one particular gun, any more than a car dealer can tell you what his cost is on one particular car.

If you could see what goes on in the back room, the distributor is offering deals, the manufacturer is offering deals, and usually the deals are on buying multiple guns. It's not unusual for the distributor or manufacturer to tie in the purchase of a not so popular gun with the purchase of multiple popular guns, meaning that the dealer gets the unpopular gun for virtually nothing.

So when a LGS starts telling you about his "cost" on a new gun, he is blowing smoke, unless it has been in the counter for some time, so that he has been able to cost it out.
