Kimbers are fine 1911s, too. Some are better than others, but my EDC is a Kimber Custom Shop Pro Raptor II and I love it. It is the weapon I chose to replace the TRP when I decided that I wanted a commander size for EDC. No work needed on this Kimber. Perfect right out of the box.
 
Another thought you may want to consider when deciding on the Loaded or TRP. Kimber makes an excellent 22LR conversion for the 1911. It will fit any Commander or Government size and is a 5 inch. They cost about $250.00. This has been one of the best training tools I have ever purchased. I would have said it's the best money I've ever spent, but it has paid for itself several times over now in saved cost of ammo so I can't really say I spent anything on it.

How about getting the Loaded and a 22 conversion for about the same as or even a little less than a TRP would cost. Then you can go to the range and burn a few hundred 22s without breaking the bank. At the end of the day switch back to 45 and run a few mags to stay proficient at handling the recoil and you're all set. All you do is change out the slide and use a different mag. 30 seconds to transition from one to the other.
 
I prefer the metal baseplate on the Wilson mags. I carry a 7 round in the gun and 8 round with spacer baseplate reloads with my compact framed commander length Sig.
 
I was right were you were 6 months ago, and decided on the TACPAC XO from Sig ($890). It was in one word, awesome. Smooth as butter. But carrying it around was a bear. Now I own and carry the S&W e series 4" ($1200) with night sites. It is so light I forget I'm carrying it :-). Start low Sig, maybe even RIA, and if you like shooting it (and you will)... go with S&W E series for your next one then LB or maybe even the Nighthawk. Yeah baby!!!

I really like that S&W E series with the bobbed tail. Looks like a great firearm, but NOBODY around here has em in stock lol. I'd like to hold/handle it at some point. Another one to consider, for sure.
The few RIA models I've held "feel" cheaply made to me, and again, I'm trying not to go "bottom of the barrel" for the first one, even though it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to start low...

I don't know... So much to think about lol...
