Funny you should say. I always leave the heads on as well. A buddy was givin me grief about it so I chopped em off before they hit the grease.

wildcat creek is my fav place to camp in Ga.
lots of "suspect" sightings out there too.
Cooler weather upcoming. Any folks flipping a fly?
Been lake fishing lately. Fish of all sorts hitting purple prince nymph and hares ear nymphs. That’s my pro tip .
just to the bluegill and bass in my little pond. have been tying a few though. squirmy wormies. killer bugs, walts worm, kebari. Loading up so when i do go.(the trees always get their cut...)
just look at it as though your eaving tackle there so you dont have to bring as much the next visit.
Got out with the fly rod several times this weekend. Only the second time I’ve had it out since buying it. I’m having a blast. Man I can knot up some leaders and stick flies in things behind me. I’ve gotten pretty good with a straight overhead cast and a simple short roll cast. But once it becomes necessary to do something just a little off, everything falls apart! Great fun though!
Spent a few days at Land between the Lakes. caught a few bass and bluegill. The most fun one was a 23in gar(and i didnt have a camera lol) that took about 8 mins to get in the kayak. I know it don't sound like much but with the little tenkara rod i use it stayed folded over the entire time.

I seem to gravitate to 3-4 weight rods, 8 ft and under. Been killing it with my Reddington butterstick , second version, got on clearance for cheap. 4wt, 7’6” . I also love my orvis Clearwater , same size but a 3wt.
