For men over 55 only, thank you...

Bought my first handgun in a San Antonio gun shop while stationed there with the Air Force in 1972 for $125…. forget the model designation but it was a blued 2.5 inch model 38… realized after I bought the thing it used the old 38 S&W ammo instead of 38 Special (dummy!) but at that time the 38 S&W ammo was more common…. kept the gun until trading it at a gun store in Roswell about 1994 for my first 9mm semi-auto that was on sale for $200 bucks…. the guy took my S&W and $50 bucks for it…. felt like I had just "won the lottery" as I walked out of the store…. (yeah, you could still buy and gun and walk outta the store with it same day back then).

There's nothing better than getting paid to look out the window....

Point of order recognized… though for handguns, one must have a GA carry permit to do so…. I didn’t have a CWP back in 1994

I had 2 , S&W .357 in the box never fired for my 2 sons, both of my sons did not want the guns because they wanted Sigs, 320. I traded one on here to a ODT member the other, my daughter who's keeping it for my granddaughter. I won't give my kids any of my guns now, they can go buy there own now!

Perhaps I have misunderstood an earlier comment…

Can one of you guys offer some more detailed comment on what you are questioning about my assertment of not being able to purchase a handgun from an FFL and walk out of the store with it "same day"?

There is no waiting period in Georgia to buy a firearm, GWL or not, regardless of handgun or long gun. Don't know if there's ever been. Hasn't been one since at least '89 when I moved there.
