Anyone out there thATS a garage door expert or has experience in fixing and replacing torsion springs? My garage is a single torsion spring and the spring is installed on the left side of the center bracket and its a right hand wind spring. My question would be, could I install a left hand wind on the right side of the center bracket and it would work just as well? My torsion spring broke and I am needing to fix it and I ordered the wrong wind. So instead of waiting for a replacement, I was seeing if it was doable?

I dont see why it wouldnt work. And obviously, be careful. Ive replaced them before. Take your time and pay attention to what you're doing. Make absolutely sure you have a good bite when you go to wind a turn on the spring. And make sure the cam has no cracks in it.

If you value the following, head, legs, hands, chest, arm, fingers, stomach, or feet...

As the others have said...

call the PRO, and let it go somethings are not worth the bodily injury...

We have done it (2) our first and last time, it AIN'T WORTH THE PAIN...
