MrGunsnGear showed the patent drawings on his latest video.

He also brought up a good point... Glock will fill current contracts with existing guns, but will agencies want a new, unproven design (V or 6) for future contracts? Or will Glock be able to sell them the older, proven designs?

They may in fact make a line of "California compliant" guns like Glock 17V etc. As far as filling existing contracts, entities generally want what they contracted.

Got a number of glocks that I'm happy with. Love the Gen 3s

Glock 26 ODG
Glock 29SF ODG
Glock 20 ODG
Vickers Glock 19 Grey

Would like another Glock 43 at some point. Curious to see the V series that is beong released.

The Gen 5 was new when agencies switched back from 40 to 9mm

It’s not just California suing Glock, several states and cities have filed lawsuits over selling an easily convertible machine gun, out of their pistols. Honestly, it’s a hell of a strategy. Glock has two choices, get sued out of existence by our tax funded state and city governments or change their design. I doubt Glock will ever truly recover from this.

You almost have to wonder if these states and cities allowed these switches to hit the streets, in order to make this coordinated action………almost like the crack epidemic to strengthen our laws? How much longer are we going to be allowed to own the ones in circulation? This “easily convertible” is a very slippery slope.

What about all the Gen3 knockoffs out there, will they be sued next?

Considering just about every store I’ve walked into has barely any Glocks left, and that the distributors saw a massive surge on them, I’d say glock will sit fat and happy with some cash since all these companies are already placing orders for the new V model. Gotta admit - it’s one hell of a marketing move cause it triggered a panic during a downturn in the industry.

What will be interesting is that the new switch-proof Glocks won't be allowed in CA because they won't be on the 'not unsafe roster' due to the lack of a mag disconnect as required by the law.

The Gen 3s were grandfathered but the Gen Vs will definitely be considered new guns and unless they incorporate that and a loaded chamber indicator they won't pass muster.

In fact the only people in CA that will be able to buy the new V/6 Glocks will be police, who of course are exempted... and probably the last people who would install a wish.com switch.

They will probably pay for it down the road though. Unless the new V (and later 6) models catch fire they just pre-sold all their popular guns and won't have anything in the pipeline for a while to take their place.
