Got a REAL stumper for the experts

I think somebody has already hit on plug wires / coil. I had a patrol that was not throwing a code. While driving I would loose power or it would surge like the fuel pump was going out. Out vehicle maintenance guys checked it out and said it was the tranny. They replaced the tranny and it still did the same thing.

Turned out be plug wires to the coils.

The motor never acted funny while idling, only driving down the road.

Anyone got an idea on TBI fuel volume?
How many ml per hour or something to that effect?
I had a chance to really look close and compare the spray pattern to a good running TBI yesterday, and the left bank looked like it was running fat andright was running lean. Spray on righty looked like a good cone, buet lefty appeared to be pouring too much fuel at throttle load.
Pulled the injectors after an ohm test, no varnish on them, O-rings were toast OFC, replacing screens, soaked the nozzles in Mineral spirits overnight and cycled for about 30 seconds a piece at 3v 500mA (below their operating range, but still moves the pintle). One was missing upper side screen (the one runnign fat) and one had it's plugged (the one appearing lean). Both lower screens were relatively clean for being O.E.

I'll let you all know how it goes, from here It's gonna be the pump or injector driver. Really wish I had that inductive pickup to test their draw. Still crossing fingers it was just a leaky O-ring and a plugged screen.

Went through the pages and did not see anything on checking the injectors..... By this I mean check them visually with a timing light. I had a 91 k1500 with similar problems and found one of the injectors was just dripping out. To the naked eye, it looked like a good cone spray, with a timing light aimed at them.... a whole different story. Give it a try, won't cost anything.
