Gussied Up 10/22 vs. Ruger Precision Rimfire vs. "Whatcha got?"

I wonder if you'll ever find one of these. I don't see it on Ruger's site as they all seem to have 18" barrels now. Maybe a distributor special or something? Gadgetsrfun Gadgetsrfun might know.
Its a sportsmans outdoor exclusive. For the past few months I do the Notify Me - I get the email within 2-3 days they are in stock; then they go out of stock in 2 days; rinse and repeat. One day I'll jump on it - just too many other wants right now.

Well, I had a windless evening at the range today and was able to get my new scope dialed in pretty good. Obviously this gun will shoot better than I can shoot it, but that's no surprise.

All shots taken using CCI Standard Velocity.

Here is a picture of my 50 yard target with the Burris MTAC 4.5-14 x 42 scope. Set at 14x and shooting from the bench I was able to get pretty good groupings even though I was having trouble getting comfortable behind the rifle. After a few shots to tweak the scope after shooting in the wind the other night, I was able to get a decent 5-shot group.

I then took 10 more shots at a different target and grouped them pretty good, except for a couple of strays that I know were my fault. I just couldn't settle into the rifle, if you know what I mean, and in the field to the South of me there was a flock of turkeys just making a God-awful racket and it was hard to concentrate. I shot another 5-round string at another target and felt much better about it. I just need to get used to this bolt-action business I guess.

I then decided to shoot a mag full of SV's with my Gussied Up 10/22, also from 50 yards. Even though this scope is only 7x, it is very clear and precise. I didn't have any trouble seeing... or hitting the target as the picture below shows. I think I'm still favoring this 10/22 rifle over the RPR, but I've got a lot more shooting to do before I make up my mind.. At any rate, they are both a blast to shoot and I wish y'all could come out and shoot with me.
