From one CIO to another, The new Mitel system we just installed does it as well as Avaya.

Right, my cheeso phone system does not have that option at all.

I'm even talking the bigger systems. (Cisco, Avaya, Ring Central, etc) You can buy call recording systems for them, but they do not come with by default.

They were a close second for us. Their third party CRM integration was a bit weak which is why we went with Mitel and their MiVoice suite.

I’ve discovered a hidden camera in my private office that my employer has linked to his personal laptop.


I’ve not been notified and I’ve not given consent.


I’m in Georgia and is this legal....

It is not 'your private office' unless you are an independant contractor renting or owning the space.

If you are an employee, you have two choices , quit or get used to it. It is a nanny cam, and they are not illegal, they are even installed on OTR trucks that are company owned, complete with live audio, video, and gps.

As mentioned, cameras are everywhere, you can fight them till you go broke paying lawyers, but they are not going away.

I think he planned on firing a while back but felt guilty because he had no reason to present to other partners... and they wouldn’t vote to terminate.

I don't see if the OP mentioned where the camera is located but if the employer doesn't know you know about it is it possible to casually place something in front of it to block the view?
When he comes in to unblock it maybe he will explain why it's there.
My guess is that he is filming the OP and posting it on YouPorn.com.
I remember back in the day when you could rub one out at work and not have to worry about it ending up on the Internet.
