On a weekly basis, I average about 5 trips to Home Depot. They have fewer and fewer people on the floor to assist in locating items and assisting loading cart. They have installed registers that allow you to scan all your nuts, bolts, screws, lumber, etc. When my cart is loaded with 40+ items I want a cashier and assistance loading the truck. At the Vinings store today, I got neither.

Home Depot bean counters found a way to pay their share holders a few more pennies and thus get bonus pay. Lowes is not any better, maybe worse due to a whole other set of issues.

Customer Service is a thing of the past.

There..... I feel a little better.

Agreed. I’m tired of ringing myself up.
Most depots I’ve been in lately have 4 self checkouts, one clueless and unhelpful attendant there.
Maybe the “contractor” counter in the lumber section has an attendant.

I had to call lowes 5 times over 2 days to find out if they had an item in stock that I already paid for. They answer the phone like it's their ex calling wanting child support.

They also have less and less of the variety of parts and hardware to do a job but lots of other junk you can get at a department store. I call them wal-mart with wood.

I have and will abandon shopping carts full of stuff if a store doesn't have a cashier to check me out.
I am rarrly in the mood to deal with self-service scanners with their 3-second time limit to place the item on the scale-monitored bagging platform.

While this has a feel good effect, it really only dicks over the one employee who could be helping someone out if they werent playing on their phone in the crapper.

Can't ever get them to answer the phones in certain departments either. Guess they don't want my business.
