What type vehicle?

I’m looking at an Isuzu NQR, rated at 215 @ 2500rpm, & 452 ft/lbs @ 1800rpm for a chip truck.

GVWRis 17,950lbs & GCWR is 23,950lb.

My chipper weighs 6,000lbs +/-, leaving me Enough, l believe for a 15 yard chip body.

Does that sound terrible?

This is about a fun commuter. Not heading down the 'build a performance car' route. I've almost slid down that slope before a couple of times

Thats the way I look at it too but it all depends on gearing and what your power band looks like.

I’m a low end torque guy. My ideal classic muscle car would be a mid-60’s Fairlane 500 with a 533 big block Ford.

Having studied some interesting work on the development of racing engines over the years, that's a bit simplistic, and not entirely true. Torque has some correlation to swept volume, hp to volumetric efficiency.

It really is pretty complex and depends on application. For another example;

hp rpm ft-lbf rpm
247 5000 313 1750-4000
330 7000 270 5200

In the same weight vehicle, from a standing start, with an auto transmission, which would hit 60 first ?
